What if you had lived at the time of Jesus?
Have you ever thought of what it might be like if you had lived in Bible times and you found out about Jesus for the first time?
Living in the time of Jesus
This week we take a trip back in time to experience what it might have been like to hear Jesus preach and see him heal the sick people who came to him.
And imagine that because you become such a faithful follower, Jesus picks you to be one of the 70 disciples he sent out to preach and heal the sick.
But when you come back to report the amazing things you have done, Jesus tells you the most important thing to remember, that your name is written in heaven.
What the heck does that mean?
In this week’s episode, I share a few ideas about what your name being written in heaven means and how empowering it is.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
James

Bible references in this episode:
Matthew 5:43, 44 ESV
43 You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Matthew 5:21, 22 ESV
21 You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’
22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment;
Luke 10:1, 17-20 ESV
1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others [seventy- KJV] and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
17 The seventy-two [seventy in KJV] returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Romans 8:16, 17 ESV
16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
