How often do you ask God: What shall I do Lord?
Have you ever been in a situation when you didn’t have a clue what to do next?
Sometimes it because everything happens at once and you just can’t think straight. Other times a single, life-changing event turns everything upside down. It’s like you’re in a different universe all of a sudden.
Saul going to Damascus
That’s what happened to Saul on the road to Damascus in Chapter 9 of Acts.
His familiar and carefully maintained world dissolved in a blinding light from heaven. He was in completely new territory. In humility, all he could say was, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”
In this weeks episode of The Bible Speaks to You Podcast, I talk about what can we learn from Saul and how he prayed about what he should do next?
Asking God for direction
Why do we usually try so hard to figure everything out for ourselves?
When we humbly ask God what He wants us to do, we will get an answer that’s much better than anything we could ever come up with. But it’s not enough just to ask God for direction. We have to do what we’re told. Saul was told to go into Damascus and then be given more instructions. And he did the next things as well.
When you hear and obey God’s voice, you’re not done. That’s just the beginning of hearing and following the purpose God has in store for you.
Have a great week. Please share this with a friend.

Judges 6: 36-40 ESV
36 Then Gideon said to God, “If you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said,
37 behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.”
38 And it was so. When he rose early next morning and squeezed the fleece, he wrung enough dew from the fleece to fill a bowl with water.
39 Then Gideon said to God, “Let not your anger burn against me; let me speak just once more. Please let me test just once more with the fleece. Please let it be dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground let there be dew.”
40 And God did so that night; and it was dry on the fleece only, and on all the ground there was dew.
James 1:5,6 ESV
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
